Maurex
In 1997, I embarked on my tattooing journey, getting inked for the first time. This initial experience ignited a passion that grew over time. I joined the Bontem family, a heavyweight crew in the Japanese tattoo scene. By 2006, the studio owner became my sensei, and after two years of hard work, training, and studying, I began tattooing professionally. Now, almost 18 years on the road, I'm constantly learning and evolving.
Style
My style blends oriental and neo-school elements with vibrant colors. While versatile in various styles, my love for colors is evident in my work. I delve into traditional Japanese, the famous 'Wabori,' adding a unique touch to my portfolio.
Madhouse Studio
Opening my own shop was a career milestone, challenging the lingering prejudices about tattoos in Japan. This opportunity opened doors worldwide, connecting with people from all walks of life.
Memorable
Tattooing memorable figures, the highlight was inking Andreas Kisser from Sepultura. Bringing my admiration for the band to life on his skin was amazing. Friends like Dante from Sepultura and bands like Jinjer from Ukraine, Ratos de Porão, and Krisiun contribute to my journey.
Challenge
The biggest challenge has been staying relevant in the tattooing universe, which is no cakewalk. Keeping relevance is a daily pride.
Journey
My journey was shaped by various influences. Georgie Cole from Tattoo Magic in Melbourne provided a significant boost in the early days.
Future
In the future, I aim to keep tattooing a lot of skin and never stop evolving. May my art continue to inspire and cross borders, showcasing the unique beauty of each story I leave on the skin.
